An agreement has been signed between Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Digital & Beyond Pvt. Ltd for digital education in community schools.
Metropolitan Chief Sunita Dangol, Chief Administrative Officer Vasant Adhikari, Education Advisor Reshu Aryal, Head of Education Department Ramprasad Subedi, and Chief Executive Officer of Beyond Sagun Dhungana signed the agreement at the City Hall on Friday.
According to the agreement for the next two years, Beyond will provide free support services to the metropolis, including facilities for educational activities, training for operational management, and so on.
Under this, there will be work to develop the digital capacity of teachers for teaching and learning in public schools, teaching students, and making teaching and learning management technology-friendly.
Speaking after the agreement, Dangol, the deputy head of the metropolis, said that the direct benefit of using digital technology should be in the academic and mental development of students.
A related program will be conducted through Google Workplace for Education by forming a code club and keeping the students from class two to class 12 in the target age group. It will involve training a representative in each school to run the website and manage the content.
Beyond is Google’s Nepal and South Asian partner organization. It was recognized by Google as an Educator Group in 2013.
