“KATHMANDU KINGS XI” today declared its team along with the player’s jersey number amidst a press conference today held at Hotel Soaltee, Kathmandu. Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City – Mr. Bidhya Sundar Shakya chaired the conference as the Chief Guest. The conference showcased the team for Everest Premier League 2021 with the brief introduction of the iconic star and Nepal’s favorite player and captain of the team – Sandeep Lamichhane along with former Pakistani cricket captain and all-rounder, striking batsman, well known as Boom Boom, Shahid Afridi.
The team comprising of international stars and national stars alike, Kathmandu Kings XI is a well-deserved contender for the coveted title of the 4th Season of Bajaj Pulsar Everest Premier League.
During the occasion, players’ jerseys were also revealed. Former Pakistani captain and batsman Shahid Afridi will play wearing jersey no. 10 while renowned international player Jana Prakash will play wearing 16 no. jersey. Afghani strong batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz will play wearing 28 number jerseys. Captain of “KATHMANDU KINGS XI” Sandip Lamichanne who has demonstrated his skills in International cricket will wear jersey no. 25. Other national level players Gulshan Jha will wear no.15, Subash Khakurel will wear jersey no. 26, Siddhant Lohani will wear jersey no.16, Jitendra Mukhiya will wear jersey no. 65 in the tournament. Ameet Shrestha will wear jersey no. 27, Raju Rijal will wear jersey no. 5, Amar Singh Rautela will wear jersey no.81, Sher Malla will wear jersey no. 58, Samshad Shekh will wear jersey no. 7, Dipendra Rawat will wear jersey no. 9, Akash Chand will wear jersey no. 24 and Ryan Burl will wear 54 no. jersey.
The much-anticipated sports extravaganza of Nepal, Bajaj Pulsar Everest Premier League will start from 25th September till 9th October 2021, wherein 6 teams will compete for the coveted title.
In the first round, “KATHMANDU KINGS XI” will be competing with Lalitpur Patriots on 25th September, Biratnagar Warriors on 27th September, Pokhara Rhinos on 28th September, Chitwan Tigers on 30th September, and with Bhairahawa Gladiators on 2nd October. Kathmandu Kings XI is a well-balanced team with well in form strikers and bowlers and like their past performances, Nepal shall witness great cricket with a strong performance from the team.
