Kathmandu Metropolitan City has announced an online application process for scholarships aimed at students entering class 11.
The Department of Education, part of the Metropolitan Corporation, issued a notice urging eligible students to apply for the scholarship examination.
Education Officer Govinda Prasad Sharma stated that scholarships will be awarded through an examination system to students wishing to pursue studies in institutional education institutes within the metropolitan area.
The notification specifies, “The scholarship examination for the academic session 2024-025 will be conducted for class 11 students in educational institutes under Kathmandu Metropolitan City.”
Students who appeared in the SEE examination conducted on Saturday, March 30, 2024, are eligible to apply online. Applications must be submitted through the Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality’s website between June 29, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM, and Saturday, July 13, 2024.
The scholarship examination is scheduled for July 4, covering subjects such as science, management, humanities, pedagogy, and law from 8 am to 10 am.
According to the metropolitan authorities, seats will be allocated based on various criteria, including 40% for students from public schools, 10% for institutional school scholarships, 14% for permanent residents of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and 1% for students from landfill site-affected areas.
