Jabbor Kayumov has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) & Managing Director (MD) of Ncell Axiata Limited (Ncell).

A meeting of the Board of Directors of Ncell held on May 09 appointed Jabbor as the new CEO & MD. Jabbor succeeded Andy Chong and assumed responsibilities from today (May 10). The outgoing CEO & MD Andy Chong will be moving to his new role as Axiata Group Chief Corporate Officer effective from 1 June 2023.

Jabbor brings with him almost 20 years of senior management experience in the telecommunications industry as a CEO of several companies under the top telecom organizations such as Telia (previously TeliaSonera) and Vimpelcom (now VEON). Jabbor is a business leader with an excellent track record across multiple leading companies in the industry. Prior to joining Ncell, Jabbor worked as the CEO of Digicel Trinidad & Tobago followed by Digicel Jamaica until April 2023. In the Caribbean markets, he led a turnaround of business operations transitioning into becoming a digital operator.

Jabbor holds extensive knowledge of the industry along with his successful track record in his role as the Chief Executive. As part of his diverse professional experience, he has been recognised for his exemplary work in people leadership, business improvements, digital, strategy, organizational design, and processes. Jabbor holds M.A in Economics from Khujand State University, Tajikistan.
