Khalti Partners With Bhatbhateni Group To Launch Domestic Remittance Service

Khalti Digital Wallet has signed an agreement with Bhatbhateni Money Transfer (BMT) (A Company promoted by multi-billion largest chain of supermarkets in Nepal) to provide domestic remittance services to its users across Nepal. Amit Agrawal, Director of Khalti and Munal Jung Karki, Executive Manager of Bhatbhateni Money Transfer, signed a partnership agreement amidst a ceremony at BMT’s head office in Kantipath, Kathmandu and jointly launched the service.

With this partnership, Khalti has introduced a dedicated Remittance icon in its app and website. Now, Khalti users can quickly transfer money to their friends and relatives across Nepal using Khalti app in a few clicks on their phone. Khalti app’s remittance feature helps to find a convenient location among Bhatbhateni outlets and 2500+ BMT remittance agents across Nepal, and check the remit status of the amount they sent. After the successful transfer, a PIN is generated automatically and sent to the receiver through SMS. Recipients can visit the specific Bhatbhateni supermarket or BMT agent and show the PIN to collect money.

Likewise, Bhatbhateni and Khalti’s customers can visit any of the Bhatbhateni supermarkets and BMT agents across Nepal to load money in their Khalti wallet and make digital payments on the go.

Speaking about the agreement for domestic money transfer service, Khalti’s Director Amit Agrawal shared,

“We are glad to sign this MoU with BhatbhateniGroup to enable our customers to transfer money directly from their wallet to Bhatbhateni Supermarkets and 2500+ BMT remittance agents across Nepal With this partnership.

Similarly, Munal Jung Karki, Executive Manager of Bhatbhateni Money Transfer shared,

“We are excited to collaborate with a renowned fintech company like Khalti and provide our domestic remittance service to its users across Nepal. Also, we are happy to facilitate our customers to load their Khalti wallet from Bhatbhateni supermarkets and 2500+ BMT agents across Nepal and provide Khalti’s seamless digital payment facility to all our customers.”
