KIST Teaching Hospital Partners Shikhar Insurance For Cashless Healthcare

In a major step toward expanding affordable medical care, KIST Medical College & Teaching Hospital has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shikhar Insurance Company Ltd. to implement the Shikhar Swasthya Surakshya Program.

The strategic partnership agreement was formally executed by Dr. Abishek Thapa, Managing Director of KIST Teaching Hospital, and Mr. Dip Prakash Panday, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shikhar Insurance Ltd.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in corporate health insurance partnerships in Nepal, aiming to streamline how patients access critical medical treatments.
Cashless Healthcare for OPD and IPD Patients
The primary highlight of the Shikhar Swasthya Surakshya Program is the introduction of seamless, cashless healthcare services for Shikhar Insurance policyholders. Clients can now access medical care at KIST Teaching Hospital without the burden of immediate out-of-pocket expenses.
The cashless facility covers two main categories of hospital care:
Out-Patient Department (OPD): Standard doctor consultations, diagnostic tests, and routine check-ups.
In-Patient Department (IPD): Hospital admissions, surgeries, and long-term treatments requiring a hospital stay.

By removing immediate financial barriers at the point of care, the initiative ensures that patients can prioritize their health without administrative or financial delays.
