Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Delivers Vital Clean Water Infrastructure to Surkhet School
10th July 2026, Kathmandu
Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited has officially completed a major community support initiative in the Karnali Province.
KSBBL Delivers Clean Water Infrastructure
The national level development banking institution donated a high capacity water storage tank alongside an advanced electric water purifier system to Tripureshwor Secondary School.
The educational institution is located in Dhaudekhali, which falls inside Ward Number 1 of the Birendranagar Municipality within the Surkhet district. The handover ceremony was organized as a centerpiece of the financial institution comprehensive Corporate Corporate Social Responsibility framework for the ongoing fiscal calendar.
The targeted infrastructure deployment aims to address an immediate health and sanitation gap that was impacting hundreds of local children and faculty members daily. By providing clean drinking water access, the development bank looks to foster a healthier, more stable learning environment for youth residing in regional educational zones.
Addressing Serious Clean Water Limitations in Regional School Systems
The administrative leadership of Tripureshwor Secondary School had previously taken proactive steps to secure a reliable water supply by digging a localized deep bore extraction well. The deep bore well setup succeeded in pulling water from underground tables but lacked any secondary treatment mechanisms.
Because the school did not have a proper industrial grade water purification machine, the raw groundwater remained heavily laden with sediments and minerals. This lack of purification made it incredibly difficult for students and teachers to consume the water safely during long classroom hours.
Recognizing this urgent student health issue, the regional branch managers of Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank coordinated with local education committees to inspect the campus. The bank quickly approved emergency social responsibility funds to source and mount the necessary hardware, combining a durable storage cylinder with a multi stage electric chemical filtration machine.
Official Handover Ceremonies and Local Governance Participation
The newly installed sanitation assets were formally transferred during a special community gathering held on the school grounds. The event brought together municipal authorities, banking directors, community elders, and local youths to celebrate the school facility upgrades.
The official handing over protocol was led by the bank designated Western Regional Head, Mahendra Khanal, who traveled to the location to finalize the asset documentation. The machinery keys and warranty papers were formally received by the Ward Chairperson of Birendranagar Municipality Ward Number 1, Dinesh Khatri.
Several key regional stakeholders took the stage to express their perspectives on the utility project:
- First point: Ward Chairperson Dinesh Khatri delivered an official statement of appreciation, thanking Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank for identifying and solving a critical physiological need that directly affects the daily performance of young children.
- Second point: School Management Committee Chairperson Ishwor Bhakta Sunar shared his strong confidence that the newly added filtration systems will drastically reduce waterborne illness absences among the student population.
- Third point: The school principal emphasized that having a continuous flow of safe drinking water helps the academic facility meet national educational health standards, allowing them to focus more energy on expanding their secondary curriculum options.
Reinforcing Institutional Commitments to Long Term Social Development
While addressing the assembly, Western Regional Head Mahendra Khanal stated that the banking institution remains deeply committed to locating genuine community struggles and deploying meaningful relief projects. The bank structures its philanthropic funds to create direct, visible impacts rather than generic marketing displays.
The high level presentation session concluded with a broad gathering of local bank officials, municipal ward representatives, active school management board members, teachers, and excited students. The school staff gave the visiting banking delegation special appreciation scarves to mark the success of the joint infrastructure project.
Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited has reaffirmed its long term corporate strategy to continue implementing similar community focused social initiatives and public health awareness campaigns. The development bank plans to keep building active alliances with provincial stakeholders, local municipality desks, and rural school networks in the future.
The development banking house runs an extensive financial network across Nepal, managing more than one hundred and twenty active branch offices alongside dozens of automated teller systems. The group continues to grow its inclusive banking footprint, offering micro loan products, agricultural credits, and accessible savings choices to millions of citizens across all seven provinces.
