LOCUS Hack-A-Week 2024:

LOCUS Hack-A-Week 2024, a week-long hackathon organized by LOCUS, IOE Pulchowk, concluded with tremendous success, showcasing an impressive array of groundbreaking projects across EdTech, GenAI, FinTech, and GameDev categories.

The event served as a platform to highlight the immense talent and innovative spirit of participating individuals.

The hackathon kicked off with the Category Release on January 8, unveiling the four categories and introducing the distinguished panel of judges, bringing together industry experts.

Day two served as a brainstorming session, allowing participants to refine their ideas and strategies, while day three featured Idea Pitching, where teams from each category presented their concepts, and amidst fierce competition, four outstanding teams were selected from each domain based on the uniqueness and viability the EdTech category, Team “The Boys” emerged victorious with their exceptional solution.

Likewise, in GenAI, Team “3.00E-04” secured the top position, showcasing their expertise in artificial intelligence.

The finTech category witnessed the triumph of Team “Looptroop,” while GameDev celebrated the success of Team “The Weekend.” The winners were not only rewarded for their accomplishments but also recognized for contributing innovative solutions to their respective categories.

The success of LOCUS Hack-A-Week 2024 underscores the importance of collaborative problem-solving and the impact of such events on pushing the boundaries of technological innovation.

Participants left the hackathon with enriched skills, experiences, and a shared enthusiasm for shaping the future of technology of their ideas. Days four through six focused on developing Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).

Teams passionately worked on transforming ideas into functional applications, addressing challenges in coding, design, and implementation.

The climactic seventh day featured the Winner Announcement. Judges evaluated solutions based on functionality, innovation, system design, presentation, and feasibility.
