Lorem ipsum, known widely in the publishing and design world, is a term that refers to placeholder or dummy text, usually based on a form of scrambled Latin. The dummy test acts as a part of the draft design which simulates a final product layout and visual design. This is a key reason graphic designers use them during their process of development. The garbled form of Latin is just a decorative piece so as to not let users get distracted by readable words. The text is muted so to speak, in order to highlight the design.
