Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel has highlighted Lumbini Province as a key area for investment and economic growth.

Speaking at a discussion program organized by Kantipur Media Group in Rupandehi on Thursday, Minister Paudel emphasized the government’s commitment to creating an investment-friendly environment in the region.
Lumbini’s Economic Potential
Minister Paudel described Lumbini as more than just a pilgrimage site. He sees it as a thriving economic zone, offering significant opportunities in sectors such as tourism, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and industrial development. “Lumbini has immense potential to contribute to Nepal’s economic growth,” he said.
Paudel stressed the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector to unlock Lumbini’s full potential. He believes that increased investment will lead to rapid urban development, improved public services, and industrial expansion.
Gautam Buddha International Airport: Key to Connectivity
One of the major infrastructure projects in Lumbini is the Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA). Paudel assured investors that the airport would soon operate at full capacity. Despite some delays, the airport is set to boost tourism and trade in the region. “We are committed to making sure that the airport functions at its full potential, enhancing connectivity and economic activity in Lumbini,” he confirmed.
The airport’s full-scale operation is expected to increase international tourism and attract investors, which will further enhance the region’s economy.
