MAXUS Nepal Provides NPR 8 Million in Disaster Relief Support

MAXUS Nepal, supported by SAIC MAXUS and Himalaya Organization, has provided NPR 8 million in disaster relief to affected Nepalese communities, featuring financial aid to the Prime Minister’s Fund, essential supplies, and solar-powered safe drinking-water plants in Nuwakot.
MAXUS Nepal Provides NPR 8 Million
MAXUS Nepal, with the support of SAIC MAXUS China and in coordination with Himalaya Organization, has provided relief support worth approximately NPR 8 million to communities affected by the recent disaster in Nepal.
The initiative combines direct financial assistance with sustainable access to safe drinking water and the distribution of essential relief materials.
As part of the initiative, MAXUS Nepal contributed NPR 5 million (NPR 50 lakhs) to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, with the cheque formally handed over to the Honourable Finance Minister a few days earlier.
In addition, relief support worth approximately NPR 3 million (NPR 30 lakhs) was directly extended to disaster-affected communities located across the Trishuli River. This included the installation of Ultra-Filtration Water Treatment Plants at two temporary holding centres, together with the distribution of essential relief materials sufficient to support approximately 400 people.
The relief distribution and installation of the clean drinking-water treatment systems were carried out with the direct involvement of Himalaya Organization Chairman Mr. Dhruba Thapa, Managing Director Mrs. Milan Thapa, employees of Himalaya Organization, as well as Lions International District 325 J Nepal Chief Governor Mr. Ram Raja Thapa and other district officials.

Relief Materials Distributed
The relief materials included essential items required for sleeping, such as mattresses, pillows, and bed sheets; medicines and basic healthcare supplies; essential food items and vegetables; cooking materials and utensils; clothing for men, women, and children; and other necessities required by disaster-affected families.
Sustainable Safe Drinking-Water Support
A solar-powered water purification system has been installed at Shree Bhairam Secondary School in Trishuli, Nuwakot, where approximately 300 families are currently taking temporary shelter.
A second system has been installed at Trishuli Primary School in Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot, where approximately 200 families are currently taking temporary shelter.
Each water-treatment system has the capacity to purify approximately 1,000 litres of water per hour.
The systems will help provide families staying at the temporary shelters with access to safe and clean drinking water for as long as they remain there. Once regular school operations resume, the systems will continue to benefit the students and school communities, creating a sustainable impact beyond the immediate relief period.
MAXUS Nepal has stated that the relief initiative was undertaken as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment.
