Dikchya Raut will present Cyber Law and its challenges in Women in Nepal. Women on the internet has become one of raising topic of present world. The current digital gap is acuter for women and girls. It is estimated that 12% fewer women than men can benefit from internet access worldwide and are deprived of empowerment and development.
Building and preserving digital equality is particularly necessary to encourage them to create their own cyberspace and hold a share of internet governance.
But women mostly go through sexual abuse and harassment via internet. Identity theft and blackmailing are other problems which are common form of online violence against women. Inadequate laws and lack of accountability in the part of public instigators has helped the cyber criminals escape. The session will run around talking about the present challenges and way forward for women in internet.
