Muktinath Development Bank has formally decided to proceed with the acquisition and merger of Sindhu Development Bank and Janaki Finance Limited to strengthen its financial foundation.

Merger Decision and Agreement Status
Board Approval: The Board of Directors of Muktinath Development Bank convened a meeting at 11:00 a.m. on Bhadra 19, 2083 BS, and officially approved the decision to acquire both financial institutions.
Preliminary Agreements Signed: Preliminary non-binding acquisition agreements were formally executed with representatives of both Sindhu Development Bank and Janaki Finance Limited on Bhadra 19, 2083 BS.
Strategic Objectives and Commercial Bank Upgrade
Regulatory Application: Muktinath Development Bank recently submitted a formal application to Nepal Rastra Bank requesting an upgrade from a national-level development bank to a Class A commercial bank.
Strategic Consolidation: The triple-entity consolidation is designed to enhance the bank’s capital adequacy, expanding its overall institutional capacity, branch footprint, and financial base to meet the regulatory requirements for commercial banking operations.
