The event was organized in partnership with Health Nutrition Education and Agriculture Research Development Nepal (HEARD Nepal) and coordinated with the Public Health Service Office, Surkhet.

Comprehensive Health Services Provided

The camp served 137 individuals from 48 Raute families, including 59 women and 78 men. A medical team led by Dr. Sujan Sapkota from Karnali Province Hospital, Surkhet, provided health services. The team included four members who addressed common health issues such as:

Seasonal colds and pneumonia

Skin diseases

Gastric problems

Uterus and back pain in women

In addition to medical check-ups, the team distributed deworming medicines, vitamins, and iron supplements to improve overall health.

Addressing the Health Challenges of the Raute Community

The Raute community, an ethnic group residing in Surkhet and other districts within Karnali Province, faces significant health challenges. Poor nutrition, unhealthy lifestyles, and inadequate sanitation contribute to their health issues. Recognizing these challenges, Nabil Bank organized the camp to raise health awareness and provide access to medical services while respecting the community’s cultural practices.

Commitment to Social Welfare

During the event, Nabil Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana, emphasized the bank’s dedication to improving community well-being. He stated:

“This health camp aims to enhance the health and well-being of the Raute community while increasing awareness about sanitation and providing essential health services.”

Support from Local Leaders

The camp was attended by the head of the Raute community and local representatives. Bhim Bahadur Bhandari, Chairman of Barahtal Rural Municipality, highlighted the importance of supporting marginalized and endangered communities like the Rautes. He said:

“The responsibility for the development of the Raute community lies with the provincial and federal governments, including rural municipalities. We deeply appreciate Nabil Bank’s efforts and look forward to more initiatives in the future.”

Nabil Bank’s Continued Commitment

Nabil Bank remains steadfast in its CSR mission to drive meaningful societal change. The bank consistently supports initiatives aimed at fostering the development and well-being of diverse communities across Nepal.

This health camp marks another milestone in Nabil Bank’s efforts to promote sustainable growth and equitable access to essential services.
