NADA & SSF Signs MoU: Social Security for Nepal Auto Workers

The NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal and the Social Security Fund (SSF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The signing took place in the presence of the Honorable Minister for Labor, Employment, and Social Security, Mr. Sharat Singh Bhandari.

The event occurred during the fifth National Labor and Employment Conference. The Honorable Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the conference on March 10 and 1, 2025 AD. The theme was “Enhancing Productivity for Internal Employment Promotion.”
Key Points of the Agreement
NADA will ensure its affiliated associations and institutions register with the SSF. This aligns with the Labor Act, 2074, and the Contribution-Based Social Security Act, 2074. The SSF will collaborate with NADA to conduct awareness programs about its social security schemes and benefits.
Mr. Karan Chaudhary, President of NADA, and Mr. Kaviraj Adhikari, Executive Director of SSF, signed the MoU. NADA believes this agreement will strengthen its relationship with the SSF in the future.
Training and Collaboration
NADA will include SSF trainers in its provincial training programs. These programs cover VAT, customs, and vehicle registration. The collaboration aims to enhance workers’ skills and knowledge in the automobile sector.
The signing ceremony saw the presence of NADA’s General Secretary, Mr. Surendra Kumar Upreti, and Secretary, Mr. Vikram Singhania. Officials from both organizations also attended.
