The number of users using Forge mobile broadband service has reached 6.3 million.
According to the latest Management Information System (MIS) report released by the Telecommunications Authority of Nepal. The regulatory body of the telecommunications sector, the number of Forge subscribers has reached 6.32 million as of November this year.
Ncell has the highest number of Forge users. The report also said that only 65 percent of Ncell’s consumers are Ncell.
At present, Nepal Telecom, Ncell, and Smart Telecom have been providing Forge service. Access to Forge service has reached 21.19 percent Nepalis.
This service was first launched by Nepal Telecom four years ago. Ncell launched the service five months after Telecom.
According to NTA, Ncell has 4,082,517 customers in Forge, and Nepal Telecom has 2,049,916 customers. And Smart Telecom has 1,99,761 customers in Forge.
Ncell has a market share of 65 percent, Telecom 32 percent, and Smart Telecom 3 percent. Consumption of mobile data has been on the rise. Since the launch of the Forge service. While charges have dropped significantly.
Forge contributes 26 percent of the total number of broadband users in Nepal. The highest contribution was 56 percent from 3G services, while cable internet fiber to the home (FTTH) contributed 22 percent.
The total number of broadband subscribers in Nepal is 239.21 million.
