KATHMANDU, March 25

Ncell contributes Rs 100 million (10 Crore) to the Government for Coronavirus Infection Prevention, Control, and Treatment

Ncell Private Limited has contributed Rs 100 Million (10 crores) to the Government-established COVID-19 Infection Prevention, Control and Treatment Fund that’ll enable government for the preparedness to procure logistics such as personal protective gears, health equipment, PCR testing kits and other materials required in the testing, quarantining and treatment of Covid-19 patients.

Andy Chong, CEO of Ncell on Tuesday handed over a cheque of Rs 100 million to Narayan Prasad Bidari, secretary at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

“Amidst global COVID-19 pandemic, every country is trying its best to combat the outbreak. The government of Nepal has been trying its best in preventing the outbreak so far. This support form Ncell will further contribute to the control and treatment plan of the government. We are grateful to Ncell for a significant contribution and stepping up during this public health crisis to work alongside the government” said Narayan Prasad Bidari, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Andy Chong, CEO of Ncell, shared his commitment, “The Rs 100 million support to the Government’s COVID-19 Fund is part of Ncell’s commitment as a responsible corporate citizen of Nepal. With this commitment, Ncell pledges to serve the people of Nepal in our collective efforts alongside the Government to fight against and contain the spread of COVID-19.  We believe that the fund will support in procuring most essential logistics and provide essential health supplies such as personal protective equipment to our nation’s frontline health workers ensuring health workers everywhere have access to everything necessary to protect themselves, prevent infection and care for those in need.”
