What documents do I need to submit to get Traveller's SIM?

Tourists visiting Nepal from different parts of the world can now enjoy Ncell’s exclusive services through the company’s new scheme ‘Tourist SIM’.

In line with the ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ campaign, Ncell Private Limited has launched this new offer, enabling tourists to easily subscribe to SIM cards and avail bundled all network talk time and data services. This new scheme has come in to effect from Wednesday (January 22).

Any foreign national who visits Nepal can subscribe to a starter pack of Tourist SIM at just Rs 100 (inclusive of taxes). In this pack, tourists are entitled to get the main balance of Rs 30 and 1 GB data with a validity of 3 days.

What makes this SIM special is; there is no Pay as you Go (PAYG) rate for Tourist SIM users, and they can choose all network talk time and data service bundled packs from five different combo packs with validity ranging from 3 days to a month as per their service requirement and duration of stay in Nepal.

In combo packs specially designed for tourists, 3 days pack costs Rs 290 (inclusive of taxes) and comes with 3 GB data, 30 min all network voice service. It costs Rs 490 for 7 days pack bundled with 7 GB and 70 mins all network voice service. There is also an option of 14 days pack which has 14 GB data and 140 mins all network voice service. It costs Rs 980 for this pack.

For those who plan to stay in Nepal for a bit longer duration, they can choose 28 days or 30 days of packs. The 28 days pack priced at Rs 1,470 comes with 28 GB data and 280 mins of all network voice service. Similarly, it costs Rs 2,888 for the 30 days pack bundled with 88 GB data and 888 mins of all network voice service.

For activation of any of the combo packs, tourists after subscribing to the starter pack, can dial *17105# and follow the instructions accordingly.

Ncell has stated that the company is delighted to introduce new ‘Tourist SIM’ bundled with all network talk time and data service for tourists visiting Nepal. The company believes that this scheme launched in line with the Visit Nepal Year 2020 will help address the communications needs of foreigners conveniently visiting Nepal at an affordable rate.

Tourist SIM will be available from NcellCentres, Point of Sale at Tribhuwan International Airport and other 90 Points of Sale across the country. Foreigners are required to submit their recent passport size photo and a copy of their passport to get the starter pack.
