Ncell Restores 24 Mobile Towers Across Disaster-Hit Nuwakot, Dhading, and Rasuwa

Telecommunications provider Ncell has reached a 96% network recovery rate across the flood- and landslide-affected districts of Nuwakot, Dhading, and Rasuwa. Following rapid emergency deployment by technical teams, 24 of the 27 mobile tower sites knocked offline during the disaster are back in full operation.
Out of 78 total Ncell infrastructure sites across the three impacted central districts, 75 are now active, re-establishing crucial communication channels for local communities, first responders, and relief agencies.
Regional Breakdown of Restored Infrastructure
Nuwakot District (16 Sites Restored)
Nuwakot has achieved complete local restoration across its core network footprint. Restored towers include critical residential and administrative hubs:
Key Areas: Hun, Kalikasthan, Chowrtol, Chuli, Battar, Bidur, Due Piple, Taruk, Made Danda, Khadkabhanjyang, Mahamandal, Gujetar, Deurali, Battar Bazaar, and Pipaltar.
Dhading District
Essential connectivity has been brought back online in major transit and high-volume sectors:
Key Areas: Khalte, Sunaula Bazaar, and Bhoomi Danda (Galchi).
Rasuwa District (5 Sites Restored)
Despite harsh mountainous terrain and disrupted road access, technical teams successfully brought five high-priority sites back online:

Status of Remaining Downed Sites
Only three sites remain offline as technical teams navigate severe structural damage and logistically isolated terrain:
Nuwakot (1 Site): Suspected structural and physical infrastructure damage under active evaluation.
Timure, Rasuwagadhi (1 Site): Suspected physical infrastructure damage caused by localized landslides.
Rasuwa (1 Site): Located in remote terrain unreachable by land. Airlift operations are pending weather clearance to transport specialized repair equipment and personnel.
Supporting Emergency Rescue & Relief Operations
Restoring telecommunications infrastructure remains vital for disaster management. Re-establishing cellular access allows displaced residents to contact family members while enabling the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), security forces, and local NGOs to efficiently coordinate rescue missions and distribute emergency supplies.
Ncell ground crews continue working alongside local authorities to achieve 100% network recovery once aerial access to the final Rasuwa location opens.
