Neco Insurance Limited has paid insurance claims to the families of Nepali climbers

The climbers included Gyalu Sherpa and Ngang Thindu Sherpa, who lost their lives in an avalanche on Broad Peak, the world’s 12th-highest mountain located in Pakistan’s Karakoram mountain range.
A total of 10 people, including renowned mountaineer Nirmal Purja, were killed in the avalanche, five of whom were Nepali citizens.
Claim Settlement and Operational Response
The insurance claims were paid under a trekking and expedition insurance policy arranged through Seven Summit Treks Pvt. Ltd. Neco Insurance completed the necessary procedures and conducted an investigation and assessment before settling the claims.
The company stated that providing financial relief and support to the families of insured individuals during times of disaster and hardship is one of the key purposes of insurance.
Thaneshwor Guragain, Managing Director of Seven Summit Treks, expressed appreciation for Neco Insurance’s prompt claim settlement. He noted that Sherpas are the backbone of the trekking and expedition industry and said the payment provided relief to the affected families.
