Launch of the IP TV service ‘NT TV’ via Nepal Telecom, such as package and monthly fee

Nepal Telecom has launched an IP TV service under the brand name (NT TV) via FTTH since 1 January 2021. Telecom has succeeded in introducing the Triple Play definition by offering voice and data services from the FTTH service as well as the NT TV service.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Parbat Gurung inaugurated the NT TV service at a function held at the company’s central office today.

At the event, he said he was very excited that Nepal Telecom was offering audio, internet, and television services from the same cable as the state-of-the-art service. He said that it was the company’s duty to provide such services nationally and to make them competitive in the nation.

Similarly, the Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hari Prasad Basyal stressed the need to extend the FTTH service across the nation.

Customers using voice or data services or both via the FTTH service of the company can contact the nearest Nepal Telecom Office to obtain an NT TV service. For now, the NT TV service will be available in most areas of Kathmandu Valley and in Banepa outside Kathmandu.

These are the fees and packages:

The NT TV service available to national TV channels and foreign channels is divided into basic package and premium package and the service period is fixed at one month, three months, or one year. Prices vary depending on Internet bandwidth usage.

Basic package:

Under the Basic package, the rate of NT TV service with 15 Mbps internet bandwidth for a period of one month is Rs. 1,230 per month while NT TV service with 15 Mbps internet for one year is Rs. 13,220 will be available.

Premium package:

Similarly, under the premium package, NT TV service with 15 Mbps internet bandwidth for a period of one month will cost Rs.1400. The NT TV service with 60 Mbps internet for one year will be available at Rs. 24,500. Both basic and Premium packages will feature 250 minutes of telephone calls to the NT network.

While the company is converting wireless phone customers to FTTH as technically possible, NT TV service will also be available to customers using only voice services under FTTH. For this, one month NT TV service under basic package is Rs. It will be available at Rs 480 and Rs 5,780 a year.

Similarly, FTTH customers who are using only voice service can avail of one month of NT TV under the premium package. You can get it for Rs. 800 and one year NT TV for Rs. 8,300.
