Nepal Telecom (NTC) has successfully brought all mobile BTS sites back online, restoring 100% network and internet coverage across the flood-ravaged districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading. The rapid restoration follows severe network disruptions caused by flash floods that struck the region on Bhadra 10.
Key Restoration Impact
Full Network Recovery: Out of 120 total network sites across the three affected districts, 83 suffered service outages during the flood. As of Bhadra 16, all site operations have been completely normalized.
Alternative Routing for Destroyed Sites: Three BTS towers—Timure, Chilime Khola, and Trishuli 3 ‘B’—were completely swept away or destroyed. NTC has rerouted cellular coverage for these locations through nearby operational towers while priority reconstruction efforts are underway.
Helicopter Operations: Due to blocked road infrastructure and power grid failures, technicians, fuel, power generators, and heavy equipment were airlifted via security force helicopters into remote locations.
Emergency Power Backups: Tower sites in zones without main grid electricity are currently running on backup generators to maintain seamless voice and 4G data services.

Bhadra 11: Technicians airlifted power batteries and fuel to the Nyaupanechaur and Ramche repeater towers, while setting up generator backups to restore service in Dhunche (Rasuwa district headquarters).

Bhadra 12: Helicopter missions deployed teams and fuel to Goljung (Bahundanda), Gerkhu, Tupche, and Timure hill towers. Mobile network nodes were simultaneously brought online at Madanpur, Battar, Bidur Bus Park, and Baireni Thamel Danda.
Bhadra 13: Service was re-established across Trishuli 3 ‘A’, Kalikasthan, Bungtang, Katunje, Samari Bhanjyang, and Betini towers—bringing total restored infrastructure to 93 out of 120 sites.
Bhadra 14: Activation of 7 critical sites, including the key Rasuwa Border site along the Nepal–China border corridor. Opening this site restored vital communications across the border point, Timure, and the Bhote Koshi corridor to support disaster rescue and relief operations.
Bhadra 15–16: Final phase deployment restored Jibjibe, Saramthali, Benighat, Trishuli Bazar, Kalleri, Bhadratar Thaprek, Pusan Tar, Taruka, Kispang (Bhalche), and Budhasingh, marking 100% network coverage across all disaster zones.
Inter-Agency Collaboration
The swift restoration was achieved through round-the-clock technical operations in coordination with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the Nepal Army, security agencies, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), local authorities, and helicopter transport operators.
