Nepal’s First Cybersecurity Journal Has Been Launched

Nepal’s first Cybersecurity Journal has been announced in an event today. Journal of Cyber Security Research and Innovation (Journal of CSRI) is a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal on Cyber Security technology and management.

This journal is a joint venture between the Center for Cyber Security Research and Innovation (CSRI), Nepal’s leading center for delivering industry-driven cybersecurity analysis outcomes that have an impact and address real-world cybersecurity issues with innovative solutions, and the Information Security Response Team Nepal (npCert) who are a team of Information Security experts united together to address the urgent need for the protection of national information and growing cyber security threat in Nepal.

The event also had the Editorial Board of the Journal inviting authors to submit their papers for publication.

The Journal of CSRI and npCert focuses on enhancing knowledge in cyber security technology and management, emphasizing the research, development, and innovation in Nepal.

It is set to be a half-yearly journal that publishes high-quality cyber security technology and management research papers, practitioners’ experiences, and university students’ works. The Editor-in-chief for the Journal will be Dr. Rajib Subba with Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari as the Managing Editor.

The Journal for Cyber Security Research and Innovation hopes to publish thought-provoking, research-based analytical articles on the issue of cyber security technology and management. They further hope to provide a forum for communication between the academicians and practitioners, both Nepali and foreign, engaging in cyber security technology and management.

The editorial board of the Journal encouraged articles on Cyber Security technologies, innovations, and management with conceptual, empirical, and theoretical bases with practical application value in the Nepalese context to be submitted through their online submission system at https://easychair.org// by the 31st of December, 2021.

The launch event was held on Wednesday with attendance by many leaders and pioneers of Cybersecurity knowledge and practices in Nepal. In attendance were the Joint Secretary of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Mr. Anil K Dutta, Acting President of Internet Society Nepal, Mr. Romkant Pandy, the Vice President of Internet Governance Institute, Mr. Baburam Aryal and the President of CSIT Association of Nepal, Mr. Ashish Giri. The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Subarna Shakya of CSRI.
