Apple has recently announced its brand new Product, iPhone SE 2020. To those who are unknown, this is the second version of the iPhone SE, which was released in 2016.

The brand new device offers lots of high-end specs, a good camera, screen size, and battery quality (as they have announced so). But the main part is the company is including all these qualities on the Product to sell it at just $399. The spec you can get in this phone are ones found in other flagship phones but at a much higher price.

After the release of the iPhone SE 2020, they have discontinued iPhone 8 production. iPhone 8 details can not be found on their page, and it essentially replaces and improves on the iPhone 8 (which is now discontinued, and apple’ ss product page redirects to notice about the iPhone SE 2020.

Price of iPhone SE

iPhone SE 2020 is now the cheapest iPhone product from Apple. Previously iPhone 8 was the cheapest with the price tag of $449. The new Product starts with a price tag of $399. There is a price variant following the internal storage capacity. There are three models of iPhone SE, one with 64GB, which will cost you $399, and another two with 128GB and 256GB. The starting price of the12GB model is $449, and the 256GB model will cost you $100 more than the 128GB model.

In the US, Apple is offering the new iPhone SE at $16.62/month through its financing plan. You can also get the Product for just $9.54/mo or $229 if you have something like the iPhone 8 to trade-in. You can also upgrade your previous iPhone to get this phone at a comparatively low price.

Release Date

The iPhone SE 2020 release date is set for Friday, April 24. Pre-orders are supposed to be opening on Friday, April 17, and going live at 5 am PDT / 8 am EDT / 1 pm BST.

iPhone SE 2020 design and display

The design and display of the phone quite match with iPhone 8. iPhone SE 2020 is aluminum designed with 4.”‘ Retina HD display. The 1333 x 750 display with 326 pixels per inch sharpness provides great color details and quality. There is no notch but a bazel at the top and bottom of the phone, housing the front camera and home button, respectively.

The Product is water-resistant to 1meter upto 30minutes and, of course, dust resistant.

You have your single camera at the back and the same old fashioned home button in the front. The Touch ID security rather than face -ID.

It gets the same TrueTone technology as the latest models. This enables it to adapt to the lighting conditions, adjust the screen’s white balance warmer or cooler accordingly.

iPhone SE 2020 comes in three colors: black, white, or Product Red (as they call it).

You get your charging connector at the bottom edge of the phone but no 3.5mm headphone jack. Wireless iPod can be used to connect the iPhone, or you can also purchase a separate adapter to connect wired headphones.

iPhone SE 2020 specs

Performance

iPhone SE 2020 uses the A13 Bionic chipset, the same used in the iPhone 11 model. Apple calls it the fastest chip ever in a smartphone, period.

This makes it faster than the previous iPhone 8, which used the A11 Bionic chipset. This faster performance of the phone provides faster snapping between the apps. It makes video editing and computational photography possible in your device.

Battery Life

Despite the use of the A13 chip, which consumes more power, the battery is the same as the iPhone 8, which is 1,821mAh. But the company announced that battery life would be much better than the iPhone 8. It is expected to last about a day on a single charge.

Talking about charge, you can buy a separate iPhone fast charger to charge your iPhone quickly. These chargers let you charge your phone much quicker than the standard USB-to-Lightning plug that comes in the box. These 18W fast-charge adapters can get you from zero to up to 50 percent in 30 minutes.

Also, you can charge iPhone SE wirelessly. But you have to purchase a separate Qi charger to charge your phone. It is a good option to have.

Storage

For storage, as mentioned, your options are 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB – and there’s no microSD support for expanding that, so make your decision wisely. The company does not yet reveal the RAM of the Product, but According to a listing on China Telecom, it will come with 3GB of RAM.

Dual sim Dual SIM, dual numbers

iPhone SE 2020supports Dual SIM with eSIM. So now, you can have two separate SIM numbers on the same iPhone.

iPhone SE 2020 Camera

iPhone has always updated their camera quality with their every new Product, and iPhone SE 2020 is no exception. The A13 Bionic chip brings Portrait mode in both front and back cameras.

The Product has its 12Mp (f/1.8) rear-facing camera with flash capable of taking 4K video. 7Mp (f/2.2) front-facing camera.

You can get to choose from six studio‑quality effects. Then adjust the lighting intensity to get yourself the perfect portrait that you desire. You can get a new” High-Key Light Mon” quality effect.

iPhone SE 2020 is quite not suitable for night photography. Despite having a more advanced image processor inside, it does not provide great night mode camera performance.

In the coming of the camera sensor, the Product contains a single sensor, but this works even better than the iPhone XR’s camera. So while the hardware might seem very similar to that in the iPhone 8, the A13 chipset makes it much better than what we got on iPhone 8. According to the company, Smart HDR intelligently relights a face to capture more natural-looking contours and skin tones.

The front-facing camera can get perfect portrait selfies without needing a separate sensor. It properly checks the depth and finds the subject by using the new software.Combining a range of exposures, it can create a clear, bright image with a very low shutter lag under the finger.

Video recording has also got powerful with the new iPhone SE. You can capture a great 4K video. The extended dynamic range adds greater detail in highlights and shadows.

Comparing brand new iPhone SE 2020 to the iPhone 11 range

Some factors indicate that these two products can be compared to each other and are quite similar in performance.

One main reason being that the iPhone SE uses the same bionic chipset as iPhone 11. iPhone SE was made with the specs that are quite similar to the other expensive iPhone.

But to cut down the price to nearly half, there have been many compromises from the design, screen quality to the battery life of the new device. iPhone SE is similar to the design of the iPhone 8, which has not been quite well-liked by the public. The bezel-less screens are more preferred. The users also get less video playback time in iPhone SE, showing that iPhone 11 has better battery life. 6.”‘ Liquid Retina HD display of iPhone 11 and  5.” or 6.” Super Retina XDR display of iPhone 11 Pro is far better than 4.” Retina HD display of iPhone SE.

But looking at the price tag, it is not that bad as well. We can still get better camera quality and better performance with the iPhone SE.
