Samsung announced and released Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo smartphone on February 2014 that comes up with an Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean) upgradable to v4.4.2 (KitKat) that is further upgradable to v5.1.1 (Lollipop).
This phone supports GSM /HPSA/ LTE network configurations. This phone has a dimension of 148.4 x 77.4 x 8.6 mm (5.84 x 3.05 x 0.34 in) having a thickness of 8.6 mm and weighs about 162.5 grams. It uses Micro-SIM S Pen stylus technology.
The screen size is 5.5 inches, and the screen-to-body ratio is 72.6%. The display is of 16 M colors and has Super AMOLED capacities touchscreen. The screen resolution is 720 x 1280 pixels which are precisely 267 PPI pixel density. It supports multi-touch and comes with Touch Wiz UI. The GPU used is Mali-T624 MP4.
It has got Exynos 5260 Hexa chipset, and CPU comprises of Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 & dual-core 1.7 GHz Cortex A15 processors. The internal memory available is 16 GB (11 GB user available), and it contains 2 GB RAM.
The primary camera comprises of an 8 MP, f/2.6, 31 mm, autofocus, LED flash camera while secondary comprises of 2 MP, f/2.4, 27 mm and 1080 p camera. The video feature includes 1080 p@30 fps and stereo sound rec. The primary camera features include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection panorama, and HDR.
The microphone jack is 3.55 mm and has got stereo loudspeakers. The WLAN supported are Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, and hotpots. The Bluetooth version is 4.0, A2DP, LE. It also comes with NFC connection and an IR port but does not contain an FM radio. The USB available is v2.0 micro USB with USB Host.
It also comes with accelerator, gyro, compass and proximity sensors. The messaging can be performed via MMS, SMS threaded view, IM, Email and Push mail. The GPS technology is A-GPS, GLONASS. The browser is HTML 5. The phone also comes with S-Voice natural language commands and dictation and ANT+ support as well as Air gestures.
It also comes with 50 GB cloud Dropbox storage. The battery used is Non-removable Li-Po 3100 mAH battery that gives up to 540 h (3G) standby and 18h (3G) talk time battery life while the endurance rating is 74h. The colors available are Black, White, Green, Pink and Red. The available models are Samsung GALAXY Note 3 Neo 3 G SM-N 750 and Samsung GALAXY Note 3 Neo LTE+ SM-N 7505.
The main disadvantages are N 9000 model (Exynos) lacks LTE and 2160 p video capture; the large size makes single-hand operation hideous. Also, there is no OIS, no dedicated camera key and no FM radio. Even the shared camera interface makes framing tricky.
