NIC Asia Bank Enables NEPALPAY Card Acquiring Services

NIC Asia Bank Limited has enabled NEPALPAY Card acquiring services in partnership with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL).

This strategic integration expands the bank’s digital payment capabilities across its payment network.

Under this setup, NIC Asia Bank can accept NEPALPAY cards alongside international cards operating on the Discover network, including RuPay cards.

Cardholders can complete transactions using these card schemes across all NIC Asia Bank ATM and Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals nationwide.

NEPALPAY Card serves as the domestic card scheme under Nepal’s National Payment Switch (NPS) framework.

Domestic Operations: Allows participating banks, financial institutions, payment service providers, and payment system operators to issue cards accepted at POS and ATM terminals across Nepal.
Global Reach: Operates internationally through its partnership with the Discover Network, allowing NEPALPAY cards to function globally while enabling foreign Discover and RuPay cards to work within Nepal.
Industry Adoption: Over 36 banks and financial institutions have subscribed to the NEPALPAY scheme, with 7 institutions actively issuing cards and 11 financial entities enabling card acquiring services.
