The Nepal Telecommunication Authority is going to organize the ‘South Asia Telecommunication Regulators Council (SATRC)’ workshop from the upcoming Ashoj 3, 2079.
Various companies and partners will participate in the workshop, which will be conducted for three days, including telecommunication regulators of South Asia.
In the workshop, it is said that topics such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Machine Learning, etc. will be discussed.
SATRC is a joint organization of telecommunication regulators of South Asian countries.
Within this, the member countries have been organizing workshops every year. Accordingly, a workshop is going to be held this year under the auspices of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority.
Dipesh Acharya, director of Nepal Telecommunication Authority informed that 30 foreign representatives and 50 Nepali representatives related to the telecommunication sector will be present in the program to be held at the Himalayan View Resort in Dhulikhel.
He said that representatives from Iran along with all countries of the SAARC region will be present in this discussion, which will discuss the topical issues of the world telecommunication sector.
There will be a total of 10 sessions in the program, in which there will be a special discussion on the need for 5G and the challenges that may arise when implementing 5G.
Representatives of Huawei, GSMA, Qualcomm India, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives, and telecommunication companies will give presentations on this topic.
Similarly, it is said that new technology for last-mile connectivity will also be discussed in the program. That is, there will be a discussion about providing service to the customer’s home through the use of new technology.
Representatives of different countries and companies will have their views on this matter.
In addition, new technology blockchain, AI, machine learning, and other topics will also be discussed.
The last session of the program will discuss issues related to personal data security. Acharya said that representatives of Facebook and SATRC are scheduled to give their presentations in this session.
