Nepal Telecom Company Limited (NTC) held its 17th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on January 13, 2025, at the National Assembly Hall, Exhibition Road, Kathmandu. Almost 91.62% of shareholders attended the meeting.

Cash Dividend Approved for Shareholders
A key resolution passed was the approval of a cash dividend of NPR 30 per share. This dividend is from the company’s profits for the fiscal year 2023/24, reflecting strong performance.
Financial Reports and Approval
The AGM ratified the Annual Report for 2023/24. Shareholders approved the Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Account, Cash Flow Statement, and other financial documents, ensuring transparency.
New Auditors Appointed for FY 2024/25
Following recommendations, two Chartered Accountants, Narendra Bhattarai and Prakash Jung Thapa, were appointed as auditors for 2024/25. Their remuneration was also set.

Chairman Radhika Aryal highlighted NTC’s commitment to service excellence. Despite competition, the company focuses on expanding in remote areas. Aryal reaffirmed NTC’s support for Nepal’s Digital Nepal vision and e-governance.
Revenue Growth and Economic Contributions
NTC earned NPR 42.11 billion in revenue and NPR 6.23 billion in profit. The company also contributed NPR 41.59 billion in taxes, boosting Nepal’s economy. Aryal noted these figures reflect NTC’s strong market position.
Expanding Telecom Services in Rural Nepal
NTC expanded its 4G and FTTH services to 743 local levels in all 77 districts by the end of fiscal year 2023/24. Aryal emphasized the company’s focus on remote and underserved areas.
Infrastructure Upgrades and Sustainability
NTC has upgraded its backbone network. Microwave and satellite links were installed where optical fiber expansion is impossible. Solar power systems were added to ensure consistent service in remote areas with limited electricity.
Future Plans: 5G and Enhanced Services
NTC is preparing to launch 5G services after successful trials. The company plans to expand 5G infrastructure and improve voice services for 2G users.

Aryal stressed the importance of human capital. NTC is working to upskill employees to meet new technological challenges. The company will continue to innovate and improve services.

NTC plans to strengthen partnerships with national and international institutions. Aryal emphasized the importance of collaboration with shareholders, regulatory bodies, and employees.
Dividend Distribution and Next Steps
NTC began distributing the approved cash dividend to shareholders on January 13, 2025. Payments are processed through NMB Bank.
