Online Orientation Training for BIT Teachers by Tribhuvan University

BIT (Bachelor in Information Technology) is 8 semesters (4 years) of study. This subject was designed by closely following the courses practiced in accredited international universities. The intake students are twelve years of schooling in any stream or equivalent from any recognized board. The main goal is to provide students intensive knowledge and skill to design to develop and use information technology in different areas.

Teachers are the backbone of an educational institution. The motive of this teacher orientation is to adjust to his current situation as an employee. The orientation will help teachers to stay up-to-date about the technology to be used for teaching. They need guidance to learn new technology.

The Central Department of Computer Science & Information Technology and Institute of Science & Technology of Tribhuvan University has started giving online orientation training. This training is focused on BIT (Bachelor in Information Technology) teachers. The department has brought this program targeting all the nine affiliated campuses operating the BIT program.

Teachers of Amrit Campus, Bhaktapur Campus, Patan Campus, Siddhanath Science Campus, and Mahendra Multiple Campus, Nepalgunj, participate in the orientation program. Similarly, about 150 teachers of Bhairahawa Multiple Campus, Bhairahawa Multiple Campus Chitwan, Mahendra Morang Campus Biratnagar, and Central Technology Campus Dharan have been targeted for online orientation.

The orientation program started at 9 am on Thursday. It will continue for two days. Nawaraj Poudel, head of the Central Department of Computer Science and Information Technology under the Institute of Science and Technology, said that the BIT teacher’s first, second, and third semesters would be informed about the curriculum.

The new educational program, which started two years ago, is currently operating in only nine campuses of Tribhuvan University. Six hundred students are currently studying in the four-year program.
