Nepalese people can now order goods from India and China directly from Daraz!

Online Market Daraz has recently unveiled the ‘Global Collection’ feature. The company has also announced ‘India Bazaar Fest’ from Wednesday where you can order goods from Indian as well as Chinese online market directly associate with Daraz.

Daraz Group is a multinational technology company that was founded in 2012 with the backing of Rocket Internet that focuses on e-commerce, logistics, payment infrastructure, and financial services. It was first launched in Pakistan as an online fashion retailer and later expanded to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Myanmar as Daraz Group after a shift in its business model.

Now Daraz Nepal has expanded its market to the global market. A global market is a collection of materials found abroad. This is a new feature of the daraz which allows customers to order goods from abroad at home.

Temple Pyakurel, Chief Commercial Officer of Daraz said, ” We now have content available in China and India. We import the goods only after the customer orders the goods.” Daraz customers can order items not available in the Nepali market. Whether it’s clothes or any household, furniture, electric, or stationery items. The first purpose of starting a global collection is to bring to Nepali customers the materials available abroad but not available in Nepal and also to promote market-business competition among Nepali vendors in a positive manner.

We see Daraz promoting local brands and vendors here. For example, it is actively promoting initiatives such as Sarathi and Sahyatri. Pyakurel stated that  Nepal’s local brands and vendors are the main part of the drawer. They have relatively more local vendors and International sellers and brands are limited.

Nepali businesses are just entering e-commerce. Daraj is expanding such e-entrepreneurs through various campaigns to find a good market in the future. As soon as the Global Collection was made public, India Bazaar Fest was announced.

At the India Bazaar Fest, which started on Wednesday, customers can order various items from India. Pyakurel said that they provided more Chinese materials in the previous global collection but at India Bazaar Fest, they only focus on Indian content. There is novelty and uniqueness in the textile, furniture, household, or other materials available in the Indian market which is suitable according to the taste of Nepali customers. Daraz has started India Bazaar Fest by promoting the same thing.

E-commerce companies are all about delivery. Delivering local content on time is now a challenge. Moreover, customers will be able to shop from abroad through Daraz. If you are ordering materials from abroad, it will take 20 to 25 days which is a very long time. Therefore, work is being done along with the discussion on how to speed up the delivery. “In the future, Daraz will be able to deliver the shipping material within ten days,” said Pyakurel.
