While addressing the second phase of the 30th convocation ceremony of Kathmandu University held in Dhulikhel today, Prime Minister Oli emphasized the need to establish Nepal’s identity not only as a country of brave people but also as a nation of honest, hardworking, and polite individuals. He urged skilled human resources to engage in research and innovation in the service of the country.
Stating that Nepal has never been under the rule of any foreign country and never will be, he made it clear that Nepal is a small but sovereign nation. “Nepal has never been colonized. It has never been under anyone’s control and never will be. Even though we are a small country, we never allowed foreign powers to dominate us. Rather, our ancestors protected the nation’s independence by resisting even cannons with mere knives,” said PM Oli, who is also the Chancellor of the University. “Nepal must appear civilized. A Nepal with capable manpower should now become an employment-giving country, not one that only seeks jobs.”
He mentioned that historical facts prove that Nepal has had researchers since ancient times, noting that the significance of plants like tulsi and bar pipal had already been discovered by ancestors.
Prime Minister Oli also stated that since the world – including the Earth, water, stars, and the universe – seeks peace, we too must act accordingly so that there is no unrest in water, air, or the sky. “Even our ancestors insisted on peace in all areas. That is why the vision is ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali,’” he said.
