Prime Minister Relief Fund Collects Over NPR 15.5 Billion for Flood Recovery

The Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund has collected over 15.5 billion Nepalese Rupees to support relief and rescue operations following the devastating flood in the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the fund currently maintains a total balance of 15,532,442,926 Nepalese Rupees gathered from various individual, institutional, and international contributions.

Fund Balance Breakdown and Currency Holdings
The central government has deposited the collected funds across designated commercial bank accounts in both domestic and foreign currencies.
- Total Fund Balance: The disaster relief fund stands at 15.53 billion Nepalese Rupees.
- Local Currency Deposits: A total of 11,638,098,291 Nepalese Rupees is deposited across accounts in nine commercial banks.
- Foreign Currency Holdings: The fund holds 250,471,546 US Dollars deposited across two commercial banks.
Fund Mobilization and Relief Allocation
The government has initiated the disbursement of the collected capital to execute immediate rescue and rehabilitation measures in affected districts.
- Initial Disbursement: The government has released 1 billion Nepalese Rupees from the fund to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).
- Utilization Purpose: The allocated amount is being actively utilized for emergency rescue operations, medical support, and immediate relief distribution in flood-impacted regions.
