Free internet connection in every house with a daughter of Province No. 2

Province no. 2 has been running the ‘बेटी पढाऊ, बेटी बचाऊ’ campaign. Free internet service will be provided to 27,000 homes of daughters under this campaign. Free internet connection has been prepared in the homes of 26,956 houses that have been insured for their daughters’ education.

Priyanka Yadav is the coordinator of the campaign. She said, “The daughter’s education insurance program runs under the ‘Educate Daughters, Save Daughters’ program”. The process of internet connection has been started on the houses that have done their daughter’s education insurance from Magh 2, 2076.

Daughter education insurance camps were conducted in all 136 municipalities of Province No. 2 since the 2nd of Magh. Yadav said that work is underway to collect mobile numbers to connect the internet to the house where the daughter is insured. 

She said that the municipality is preparing to connect free internet service to the daughter’s house as all the documents related to daughter education insurance are ready in Loharpatti Municipality of Mahottari. They are preparing to connect free internet service in Loharpatti.

According to the office, the internet will be connected to the houses of the daughters of all the 136 municipalities in the state after preparing the daughter insurance documents and submitting them to the Chief Minister’s Office.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, Subisu Internet Company will connect internet service for this campaign. The Daughter Education Insurance Program is being implemented to reduce violence against women and provide better education to their daughters. 

The state government has made an arrangement to pay Rs. 37,000 and insure Rs. 300,000 as soon as the daughter is born.

The daughter will get the insurance amount after 20 years. Initially, in 2075 BS, the state government used to provide insurance of Rs. 1 lakh by paying Rs. 13,646 to a daughter.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, 26 thousand 956 daughters have been insured. While 28 thousand 457 daughters are insured in the Prabhu Bank. The state government had signed an agreement with Prabhu Bank for two years to ensure the daughter’s education. An agreement was also done to provide a free internet connection to the insured daughter’s house from Magh 2, 2076.

As the agreement with Prabhu Bank had expired, a meeting of the Board of Directors was held on Asoj 21 to invite tenders for another agreement.

A meeting of the 13-member committee chaired by Chief Minister Lal Babu Raut discussed and decided on the resumption of daughter education insurance, effective promotion, and an internet connection, said Yadav. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the insurance program will start after the agreement on daughter education insurance is signed with another bank.
