Huge Public Response
The IPO attracted applications from 1,854,497 investors. Out of these, 1,846,664 applications were approved. However, 6,426 applications were rejected due to verification issues.
Limited Supply Meets Massive Demand
Pure Energy had floated 1,195,200 units of ordinary shares to the general public. The offering opened on Chaitra 28 and closed on Baisakh 2. The shares were issued at a face value of Rs. 100 per unit, raising Rs. 119.52 million from the public.
After reserving a small portion for employees and mutual funds, the rest was allocated to general investors.
Allotment Through Lottery
Due to the overwhelming demand, a lottery system was used. Only 119,520 lucky applicants received 10 units each. The remaining 1,727,144 investors were left without any shares.
The total demand stood at 22.74 million shares, nearly 19 times the available supply. This shows a massive mismatch between public interest and available stock.

Investor Sentiment Remains Strong
Despite limited allotment, the huge subscription reflects the public’s strong interest in Nepal’s energy sector. It also indicates growing confidence in new companies and their future potential.
Continues a Trend
Recent IPOs in Nepal, especially from the hydropower and energy sector, have seen similar oversubscription. While this shows rising public enthusiasm, it also highlights the need for more public offerings to meet the demand.
What’s Next?
With allotment completed, Pure Energy Limited is expected to list its shares on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) soon. Investors will now wait for listing dates and the opening price.
This IPO marks another success story for Nepal’s capital market. However, it also signals a call for more accessible and inclusive investment opportunities for all.
