Rastriya Banijya Bank has today entered into separate tri-patriate agreements with Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) and various payment service providers (PSPs) including IMEPay, Khalti, PrabhuPay and PayTime to enable Government of Nepal revenue payments from such wallets. This will allow the customers of the wallets to initiate government revenue collection from their respective wallets and revenue collected by Rastriya Banijya Bank Ltd. The respective PSPs will use the existing NCHL’s National Payments Interface (NPI) to process such transactions towards the revenue collecting bank.

The agreements were signed by Debesh Prasad Lohani Deputy Executive Officer of RBB, Munni Rajbhandari COO of NCHL, Amod Bhattarai Head Business Development of IME Digital Solutions Ltd., Kusum Lama Chairperson of Prabhu Technology Pvt Ltd., Anmol Rateriya Product Development Manager of Sparrow Pay Pvt Ltd. and Mallika Bhattarai COO of Nepal PayTime Pvt. Ltd.

The directive issued recently by Finance Controller General Office (FCGO) related to electronic payment for revenue collection has allowed the PSPs to collect various government revenue payments. And today’s collaboration between RBB, PSPs and NCHL has established an interoperability for Government revenue payments from any of the PSPs within NCHL’s network. This is expected to increase the e-payment of revenue payments, thereby supporting Government’s initiative.
