Empowering Nepal with Native Innovation: Robotics Technology Development Fund (RTDF)
To combat recurring natural disasters such as glacial lake outbursts, forest fires, landslides, and earthquakes, the Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN) has officially launched the Robotics Technology Development Fund (RTDF). This initiative aims to build indigenous disaster-based robotics technologies tailored to Nepal’s challenging terrain and river systems.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
Disaster Assessment & Mitigation: Developing robots for pre- and post-disaster evaluation, glacial lake monitoring, forest fire control, and search-and-rescue operations.
All-Terrain Robotics for Tourism: Building porter and rescue robots to strengthen mountain tourism and safety.
Empowering Youth Innovators: Allocating 25% of the fund directly to over 100 high school and college robotics clubs across Nepal to foster local engineering talent.

Long-Term Vision: Establishing a self-sustaining robotics industry in Nepal by the year 2045.
Funding Milestones:
Target 1: $100,000 USD (Early-stage prototyping and capacity building)
Target 2: $1,000,000 USD (Technology scaling and field testing)
Target 3: $10,000,000 USD (Long-term industrial growth and research infrastructure)
How to Contribute?
Donations can be made by individuals, Corporate CSR programs, and NGO/INGO grants via donate.ran.org.np. All funds will be maintained in separate accounts, approved by the Social Welfare Council (SWC), and transparently published weekly on the official website.
