Sandeep Lamichhane Appointed New ODI Captain of the Nepalese Cricket Team Ahead of ACC Premier Cup

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has appointed star leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane as the new One Day International (ODI) captain of the Nepalese national cricket team, replacing Rohit Paudel. This leadership change marks Lamichhane’s return to the captaincy role after four years.

According to CAN, the decision to restructure the leadership was made following the team’s disappointing performance in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2. With this transition, Rohit Paudel has been relieved of both his ODI and T20I captaincy responsibilities. (CAN had previously appointed Dipendra Singh Airee as the T20I captain).

Lamichhane will officially resume his leadership duties starting with the upcoming ACC Premier Cup in Malaysia.
