Selfie with Daughter’s Campaign being Popular in India and Nepal

The Selfie with daughter campaign started from village Bibipur in the Jind district of Haryana, India. This campaign has become so publicized in Nepal that within just ten days, One lakh Nepalese people have seen the launching video of Selfie with daughter campaign, while thousands of Nepalese parents have posted selfies with their daughters on www.selfiewithdaughter.org, which will result in three of Nepal’s best selfies being awarded on June 9 on the occasion of Selfie with Daughter Day.

The Selfie with daughter campaign and foundation’s founder Sunil Jaglan stated that the campaign was launched on May 9 through a virtual program in the neighboring country of Nepal in which President of Nepal Internet Foundation Bikram Shrestha and other cooperative institutions helped to launch the campaign in Nepal. He stated that the campaign, which was started in Haryana, had been praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in many programs, including his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program.

Sunil Jaglan stated that the way the Selfie with daughter campaign was promoted in many states of India, including Haryana, during the last lockdown, similarly this time despite the lockdown in Nepal, the campaign is getting much publicized. This is the first time in Nepal when such a campaign is being conducted to honor the daughters.

He said that in the last ten days, more than one lakh people of Nepal had watched the video of the inauguration ceremony of Selfie with their daughter. Apart from this, 25,000 people have posted their selfies from all around the globe during this lockdown.

 Most of the country’s states are currently undergoing lockdown and curfew in India due to the worldwide pandemic COVID-19. In such a situation, the Selfie with daughter Foundation and Nepal Internet Foundation had appealed to people from all sections of the society to spend time with their daughters during the time of lockdown and send a Selfie with them to the online museum of Selfie with daughter. Those selfies will be honored later on.

Giving information about the campaign, the Founder of Selfie with Daughter Foundation, Sunil Jaglan, said that the program would be organized on the occasion of Selfie with Daughter Day, this time both in India and Nepal on June 9. Through different selection rounds, three selfies captured during the lockdown will be given the Best Selfie Award. The winners will be given a prize of Rs 21000, 11000,5100 respectively, along with the trophy and certificates.

Founder of Nepal Internet Foundation Bikram Shrestha said that the people of Nepal are very fond of this campaign, and this campaign will establish new dimensions of women empowerment in the country.
