The specialized surgical treatments were executed through close institutional coordination and complete financial sponsorship from the banking house. The final medical interventions followed comprehensive, cost-free eye screening camps conducted previously in the region. The baseline medical screening stations were actively set up on Baisakh 29 and 30 at two separate local venues. Medical teams deployed services directly at the Darchula District Hospital and within the Duhu Rural Municipality to capture a wide regional demographic.
During these initial field-level diagnostic camps, expert ophthalmic technicians and medical officers examined hundreds of rural residents. The screening process identified 11 specific patients who were suffering from severe cataracts and required immediate surgical intervention. The primary goal of these camps was to detect preventable blindness and offer immediate clinical solutions to the rural population who cannot afford specialized urban treatments.

To ensure the selected individuals received professional surgical treatment, the bank facilitated their safe transit from Darchula. All 11 identified patients were systematically transported to the specialized Geta Eye Hospital located in Dadeldhura. Upon arrival at the referral hospital, the patients underwent secondary pre-operative health assessments to ensure safety. Following these thorough medical examinations, nine of the patients successfully underwent cataract surgery.
The operation successfully restored their vision and significantly improved their long-term quality of life. Conversely, the remaining two patients could not undergo the planned eye operations due to separate underlying medical complications and health conditions. The bank covered all expenses including transportation, food, accommodation, and surgical costs for the patients and their attendants.
Analyzing the Broader Regional Impact of the Vision Camps
The social outreach program generated a massive footprint, delivering primary healthcare advantages to hundreds of local citizens. According to aggregated data published by the development bank, the two regional health camps achieved notable outputs. More than 700 local community members received thorough, free eye diagnostic checks and expert consultations from visiting specialists. The medical teams identified vision errors and distributed 487 pairs of prescription glasses completely free of cost to correct refractive issues. Approximately 600 patients received essential eye drops, antibiotics, and post-examination medicines without paying any retail fees.
