Siddhartha Bank’s ‘eCom’ card service launched, online shopping from abroad can be paid
NRB has allowed commercial banks and development banks to issue prepaid cards with a maximum value of $500. Now Siddhartha Bank has also launched this service.
Siddhartha Bank is going to launch the ‘eCom’ card on Friday. The card service is being introduced to make it easier to pay in foreign currency.
Earlier, Two banks of Nepal have already launched this service. NMB bank launched visa international card whereas Nabil bank launches Nabil iCard.
The customer can pay $500 or its equivalent in other foreign currencies and pay abroad from Nepal.

When issuing the card, customer identification KYC information must be updated. A PAN number should also be obtained.
Customers need to deposit up to USD 500 or its equivalent over the course of one or more years.
The bank is optimistic that this facility will facilitate operation, make international shopping more convenient, and improve the efficiency and customer friendliness of the banking system.
