The signal is a cross-platform centralized encrypted messaging service. With the tweet of Elon Musk, the fate of the Signal app sparked with over 10 million downloads.
Since Tuesday morning, the encrypted messaging app Signal has been unavailable in China without the use of a virtual private network (VPN). The Signal app was not operating for the majority of users in China.
In recent years, China’s cyber authorities have become increasingly strict, widening the list of applications, media outlets, and social media sites that are prohibited in the country.
On Tuesday morning, the Signal website was also unavailable in China. Previously, the signal app VPN was restricted from being used in China for no apparent reason.

Until Tuesday morning, the app was available on China Apple’s App Store. And both the app and the website appeared to be functional in Hong Kong.
After January 8, when WhatsApp revised its privacy terms, ensuring the right to share user data including location and phone numbers. With its privacy units such as Facebook Inc., Instagram, and Messenger.
According to data company Sensor Tower, the signal was downloaded 510,000 times on iOS in China and 100 million times worldwide on the App Store and Google Play combined.
