The construction of local-level basic hospitals across Nepal is facing severe delays, with only 17% of targeted projects completed to date, according to Member of Parliament (MP) Toshima Karki.

“Years have passed since the government announced the construction of 5-bed and 15-bed basic hospitals. Yet, only 17% of the construction has been completed so far,” stated MP Karki during the committee discussion on the status, challenges, and action plans of the Ministry of Health and Food Safety.
