Sony announced a brand new Xperia Z5 Compact smartphone this past September which was released on October 2015 that comes up with an Android OS v5.1.1 Lolly pop which is planned to be upgraded to v6.0 Marshmallow.
This phone is the mini version of Xperia Z5 phone that was released a little earlier same year. This phone supports GSM/HPSA/LTE network configurations. This phone has a dimension of 127 x 65 x 8.9 mm (5.0 x 2.56 x 0.35 in) and weighs about 138 grams. It uses a nano-SIM card. This phone is IP68 certified dust proof and water resistant up to 1.5 meters and over 30 mins.
The display is of 16M colors and has IPS LCD capacities touchscreen. The screen size is 4.6 inches, and the screen-to-body ratio is 68.9%. The screen resolution is 720 x 1280 pixels which are precisely 323 PPI pixel density. It supports multi touch up to 10 fingers and comes up with Scratch-resistant glass and oleo phobic coating protection with Triluminos display and X-reality Engine.
It has got Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset, and CPU comprises of Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57. The GPU used is Adreno 430. The internal memory available is 32 GB, and it contains 3 GB RAM. It supports a micro SD card that could be expanded up to 200 GB.
The primary camera comprises of a 23 MP, f/2.0, 24mm, phase detection autofocus, LED flash camera while the secondary is 5.1 MP, f/2.4, 1080p, HDR camera. The video quality is 2160p @30fps, 1080p @60fps, 720p @120fps and HDR. The camera has got the features like 1/2.3″ sensor size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama mode. The microphone jack is 3.55mm.
The Bluetooth version is 4.1, apt-X, A2DP. The WLAN supported are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot.  It supports NFC connection and contains FM Radio with RDS. The USB available is micro USB v2.0 (MHL 3 TV-out)and USB host. It also comes with an accelerator, fingerprint, gyro, proximity, barometer and compass sensors.
The charging is very fast with 60% in 30 mins with Quick Charge v2.0. It also comes with optional wireless charging and the battery used is Non-removable Li-Po 2700 mAh battery that has up to 520 h (2G) / up to 520 h (3G) standby and gives up to 11 h 30 min (2G) / up to 14 h 50 min (3G) talk time as well as provides music play up to 77h and can give up to 87h music play. The colors available are White, Graphite Black, Yellow, and Coral.
The browser is HTML 5. The messaging can be done via SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, IM and Push Email services. The GPS technology used is A-GPS, GLONASS/ BDS technology. This phone costs about £430.
