Student Loan to Buy a Laptop

The government has decided to provide loans to students studying at higher secondary and higher levels of public schools and campuses to purchase laptops for the purpose of assisting in alternative learning.

Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel informed that the government will provide a loan of up to Rs 80,000 for two years to buy a laptop through the budget on Saturday.

Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel said that the interest on such loans would be only one percent.

Similarly, students above the age of 16 will be provided one SIM card free of cost, said Minister Poudel.

Similarly, a loan of up to Rs 25 lakhs can be obtained by pledging an educational certificate. The maximum interest rate will be 5 percent. Finance Minister Poudel said that such loans would be available for those studying above the bachelor’s level.
