Tiny Computer has no Battery, Powered Wirelessly from Radio Waves. Whatever the branded company laptop, do you have all the things that commonly matter on every computer is only on computer battery’s backup? Here I a was going to discuss on newly designed electrical engineers small computer with no battery. Isn’t it sound interesting? And this is a reality. So let’s know about it.

Considering all the things about the battery’s backup problem, the electrical engineers from the University of Washington has developed a tiny computer with no battery. But for this, the external power source is needed to power, and it works on radio waves which means you have to turn on your radio every time to keep this device charged. And then you need not have to do this since the invention sucks radio waves out of the air and then converts them into electricity.

The device called Dubbed Wireless Identification and Sensing Platform (WISP) combined the sensor and computing chips to use a standard off-the-shelf RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) reader to suck in radio waves and to convert them into electricity.

Although the WISP is not designed in your computer or even on your Smartphone, it has as much processing power as Fitbit to compete with the chips. So, this discovery has profoundly transformed the Internet of Things (IoT) world as the WISP as more low maintenance as compared to Bluetooth Low Energy sensor chips. Hence it is more convenient and easy to create, so they collaborated with the Delft University of Technology. With the help of Wisent, the WISP can be programmed wirelessly and uses the same radio waves to communicate with the devices.

Besides, the ultimate goal of WISP is to realize the concept of the Internet of things (IoT) and give “dumb” objects some smartness to find its way into smartphones as a sort of emergency backup calling module which works even when your phone’s battery is dead or nil.
