WIBD-Nepal Chapter

Women in Big Data Nepal welcomed two directors Ms. Sampada Regmi and Ms.Santoshi Gahatraj on the 27th of September for the Nepal Chapter. Application for the co-director position was opened for diligent, confident, and passionate individuals to join the team. Through one round of application selection, one on one interview round selection and group discussion through the various application we successfully selected Miss Sampada and Santoshi as our new co-directors

Sampada Regmi is a recent Computer Science and Engineering graduate working as a Software Engineer at Accolite Digital and Software Consultant in Morgan Stanley. She has been a very enthusiastic and working executive member in Women in Big Data Nepal and is part of Toastmasters as well. She envisions putting the Nepal chapter at height with the involvement of more women with the collaboration of various organizations in her tenure.

Santoshi Gahatraj is an IT graduate turned into an Educator. Currently, She works as a freelance educator which ranges from teaching coding to kids and training teachers for digital education systems. She is very passionate and dedicated to integrating the education sector and data sector and currently doing research that might be helpful to bring some positive changes in the education system in Nepal. Santoshi is someone who loves to explore new opportunities and take up challenges. By joining WiBD as Co-Director, she aims to reach out to the maximum number of Women through providing awareness on data, its uses, and various data security issues. Furthermore, She plans to prepare women to develop their careers in Big data.

Women in Big Data is a non-profit organization established in 2015 in the USA geared toward championing the success of women and increasing their representation in the technology industry, especially in the field of big data and Nepal is one of the first chapters that has conducted various fireside chat events, workshops, webinar with the main aim of involving many women towards the field of data.

As per the plan and vision, both of them are planning various data and security-related projects and fruitful events with the involvement of women working not only in the data field as well in other fields. We wish both of them the earliest congratulation and we wish for a very successful tenure
