22nd April 2026, Kathmandu
In a significant stride toward a Digital Nepal, Pokhara-based electronics manufacturer Yarsa Tech has announced the official rollout of its Dynamic QR payment devices at the local government level (Sthaniya Taha).
Yarsa Tech Deploys Dynamic QR Solutions
This initiative aims to modernize financial transactions within municipalities, bringing a seamless, secure, and transparent digital payment infrastructure to the grassroots of Nepalese governance.
As part of its early adoption drive, Yarsa Tech is providing free NiziPOS devices to selected local bodies, allowing them to experience the benefits of modern fintech without initial capital barriers.
Pioneering Partners: Pokhara and Rupa Lead the Way
The first phase of the rollout has successfully gone live in two key locations in the Gandaki Province:
Pokhara Metropolitan City: As a major urban hub, Pokhara is setting a benchmark for metropolitan digitalization.
Rupa Rural Municipality: Demonstrating that digital transformation is not limited to cities, Rupa is leading the charge for rural digital inclusion.
These “Pioneering Partners” were selected for their active engagement during the research and development phase, providing critical feedback to tailor the Dynamic QR system to the specific needs of local government revenue collection and public service payments.
The Tech Behind the Transformation: NiziPOS
At the heart of this deployment is the NiziPOS (Dynamic QR Display), a locally manufactured device designed to simplify offline payments. Unlike static QR stickers, Dynamic QR offers:
Real-time Feedback: Instant payment confirmation via display and audio, reducing transaction disputes.
Enhanced Security: Unique QR codes generated for specific transaction amounts.
Interoperability: Seamless integration with various banking apps and digital wallets used by Nepalese citizens.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Yarsa Tech’s vision extends beyond mere hardware sales. By targeting both metropolitan and rural municipalities, the company is addressing the digital divide in Nepal.
“We believe that digital financial infrastructure should reach every corner of Nepal,” a company spokesperson stated.
“From metropolitan cities to the most remote rural municipalities, Dynamic QR is a step toward making transparency and efficiency a reality at the grassroots level.”
Future Outlook: Scaling Digital Governance
The deployment in Pokhara and Rupa is just the beginning. Yarsa Tech has already identified several other local governments for the second phase of the rollout.
This initiative aligns with the Nepal government’s broader Digital Nepal Framework, which prioritizes digital governance, paperless public service delivery, and the integration of fintech in all administrative layers.
With more palikas expected to join the network soon, the move toward Cashless Local Governance is no longer a distant goal but a rapidly unfolding reality.
