NEPSE Resumes Regular Share Trading After Data Hub Technical Fix
22nd September 2026, Kathmandu
Regular share trading resumes on NEPSE today after Data Hub Pvt. Ltd. resolved server and technical issues that caused a temporary one-day market suspension.
NEPSE Resumes Regular Share Trading
Regular share trading has officially resumed on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) after a successful fix to technical issues at Data Hub Pvt. Ltd., the central data facility hosting servers for 72 brokerage member companies.
NEPSE confirmed that the data center’s technical glitches have been entirely resolved, clearing the path for the market to open normally.
Why Was Trading Suspended?
Operations were temporarily halted following technical faults that emerged at the Data Hub early in the morning on September 4.
With server issues persisting, the Stock Brokers Association of Nepal formally requested a trading suspension, noting that operating through unresolved data center faults risked causing severe damage to NEPSE’s core trading system.
Acting on this formal request, NEPSE suspended regular trading on Monday, September 5, exercising its authority under Rule 21 (1) of the Securities Listing and Trading Regulations, 2075.
Market Returns to Regular Schedule
Following a swift one-day suspension to safeguard market infrastructure and rectify the data center issues, NEPSE announced that all systems are fully operational. Investors and brokers can now execute trades as per the standard schedule.
