The server of Pune based Cosmos bank has been hacked through a malware attack on it. Similarly, the hackers have siphoned off over 94 crores by cloning thousands of the bank’s debit cards within two days.

Cosmos Bank chairman Milind Kale on Economics Time told the fraudulent transactions were carried out on August 11 and August 13, and the malware attack by the hackers originated in Canada.

Hackers hacked into the ATM switch Server of the bank and stole the details of the multiple visa, Rupay and debit card owner details informed the police.

The Cosmos Bank admitted that it was cyber-attacked twice, first on Saturday and again on Monday – with ATM withdrawals taking place in at least 28 countries, leading to an FIR being lodged by a senior official with Chaturshringi Police Station reports the Economic Times.
