Best Airlines Award to Host First Time in Nepal

The Best Airlines Award will be organized for the first time in Nepal. Best Airlines Award Nepal is going to announce the Best Airlines Award Nepal 2022 on 13 December 2022.

In a press conference in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Best Airlines Award Nepal said that it is going to give this award in recognition of the contribution made by the aviation sector in Nepal’s tourism sector.

Chairman of the Best Airlines Award Nepal Project, Sagardev Lakhe said that for international 16 categories for Best Airlines Award are allocated while only 3 categories are reserved for Nepali Airlines.

He said that airlines operating international flights from Nepal will compete in 11 categories. Chairman Lakhe said that one of the best will be selected from among the various partners who play a role in making aviation safe and comfortable in 2 categories.

He said that the award will be given based on public opinion and the decision of the jury, which will be broadcast through various digital and other means.

He said that there are 11 distinguished people on the jury for the award.

Shekhar Golcha, President of Nepal Industry and Commerce Association, Ambika Shrestha, President of Hotel Dwarika and Honorary Consul of Spain for Nepal, Shrujana Rana, President of Hotel Association Nepal, Pravin Bahadur Pandey, President of School Club of Kathmandu, CN Pandey, former President of NATA are some of the jury members.

Similarly, he said that the other judges included Pata Nepal Chapter President Vibhuti Chand Thakur, Aviation Museum Chief Executive Officer Ved Upreti, Kantipur Media Group Chief Executive Officer Mahesh, Lead Nepal Inc. President Anil Keshari Shah, CG Holdings President Arun Chaudhary, and Nepal Non-Resident Association Founder President Upendra Mahato.

The award will be organized in partnership with the Nepal Tourism Board.  27 airlines flying from Nepal via Kathmandu to various international destinations will compete with 9 domestic airlines.

To strengthen the fairness and dignity of the award, the organizer has said that no financial support, nomination fee, or sponsorship will be taken from the airlines and organizations associated with the airline business operating as service providers in Nepal.

The project has signed an agreement with Hyatt Palace Kathmandu Hotel as the hospitality partner for the award.
